What is the film around Cascade pods?
The film around Cascade pods, and most other cleaning pods, too, is made from polyvinyl alcohol (PVA or PVOH), which is a very common polymer used in lots of applications including medicinal pill capsules and eye drops. It’s especially effective for Cascade because it dissolves in water, allowing the cleaning product to be released and combined at just the right time in the dishwasher cycle.
